Domestic Short Hair - Black and white - Oreo - Large - Young
Oreo is an approximately two-year-old male black & white DSH kitty. He's front declawed. He came to us after his owner passed away and he was found in the house with her, trying to wake her up. He loves to get and give hugs and romp with the other young male kitties in the house. He's also an expert at giving spa facials where the receiver was thoroughly exfoliated when he was finished. He will also happily take a lap if given the opportunity. He's a sweet and wonderful boy. He did come to us with some behaviorial issues, though. Since we know nothing about his history, we don't know the circumstances of his declawing, but we suspect strongly he was a rambunctious youngster and his owner thought declawing would calm him down when, really, he only needed lots of play time and patience for maturity to set in. He came to us with a tendency to bite when stressed or scared. He has since stopped most of that behavior, but it could recur during future times of stress; hence, the need for an experienced adopter who can recognize a cat's body language and know when this defense behavior is kicking in.
